TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The TikTok Shop by Tokopedia has recorded an increase in transactions for a number of sellers with mall or official distributor status in the e-commerce. TikTok Shop Senior Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-commerce, Stephanie Susilo, stated, "The highest transaction growth, averaging more than 15 times in the first semester of 2025 compared to the second semester of 2024," in a written statement on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Mall sellers in TikTok Shop are brand owners, official distributors, or verified stores with high reputation. According to Stephanie, the mall status can make sellers strategically positioned in the consumer journey.
Stephanie mentioned that the list of official distributors with the highest surge in transactions is dominated by local brands.
She stated that this finding is an important insight for the industry, as it indicates that people are increasingly relying on official mall-status stores in TikTok Shop to fulfill their needs regardless of the type or price of the products.
The best-selling product categories in TikTok Shop 'Mall' in the first semester of 2025 include fashion, beauty and personal care, as well as food and beverages.
Here are the products with the highest transaction value in the best-selling categories.
- Fashion: women's sneakers, hijabs, and school shoes.
- Beauty and personal care: lipstick, foundation, and skincare (serum, cream, and face masks).
- Food and beverages: chili paste, moringa leaf powder, and gift baskets.
In addition to recording the growth in sales transactions, the number of merchants joining TikTok Shop by Tokopedia 'Mall' has surged.
Stephanie mentioned that the number of mall merchants in TikTok Shop by Tokopedia has increased more than four times in the first semester of 2025 compared to the same period in the previous year. She believes this shows the important role of the platform in helping businesses in all regions of Indonesia, including MSMEs, to develop their business.
She hopes that more entrepreneurs are motivated to enhance the quality of their stores and services in order to achieve mall status. Her hope is that sellers can reach more buyers and optimize their businesses.
Stephanie mentioned that the mall-status stores in TikTok Shop will gradually be integrated with Tokopedia. This means, she said, that entrepreneurs can also sell through Tokopedia to tap into different markets and further increase sales.
