Tennis fans are delighted with the news that Djokovic is returning to compete at the Rome Masters after a two-month absence due to injury.
After nearly two months away due to an injury sustained at Indian Wells, Novak Djokovic chose the Rome Masters as his comeback destination, attracting significant attention from the tennis world .
The Serbian player, a six-time champion at Foro Italico, will be returning to regain his form and build momentum for Roland Garros. He has only played nine matches this season (seven wins, two losses), but Djokovic is still highly regarded for his composure and experience.
However, Nole's quest for his seventh title in Rome will not be easy, as he is in the same bracket as Alexander Zverev. In his opening match, Djokovic will face Marton Fucsovics or a qualifier, before facing a series of tough challenges from the quarterfinals onwards against opponents such as Lorenzo Musetti, Jiri Lehecka, or Casper Ruud.

In the same bracket, Zverev is also determined to regain his form after his defeat to Jannik Sinner at the Madrid Open. The German player may have to overcome Alex de Minaur to advance further.
Meanwhile, in the other bracket, Sinner continues to be the most notable name. The Italian number one boasts a streak of 28 consecutive wins at the Masters 1000 level, along with a 30-2 win-loss record since the beginning of 2026.
He has the opportunity to make history by becoming the second person, after Djokovic, to win all nine Masters 1000 tournaments.
Sinner will begin his campaign in Rome with a match against either Alex Michelsen or Sebastian Ofner. However, the path to the later stages will not be easy for the 2001-born player, as he may soon face Jakub Mensik again – one of the few opponents who have beaten him this season.
If he overcomes this challenge, Sinner will most likely face Arthur Fils in the fourth round, before going on to compete against top 10 players such as Daniil Medvedev or Ben Shelton.
The Rome Masters 2026, taking place from May 6th to 17th, is considered an important warm-up before players enter Roland Garros - the second Grand Slam of the year.
